Our Responses
Eliminating Forced Labor
At Victoria’s Secret & Co., we prohibit the use of forced, prison, indentured, bonded and slave labor, as well as labor obtained through human trafficking in our business operations and supply chain. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), ‘forced labor’ can be understood as “work that is performed involuntarily and under the menace of penalty.” Human trafficking and slave labor are also forms of forced labor.
We have a shared commitment with our supplier partners to eliminate risks associated with all types of forced labor. We conduct traceability audits every year, perform risk assessments, execute training and monitor factories, and continually engage with suppliers to establish expectations and accountability. We also have a corrective action and remediation program in place that is enhanced as needed in the event major violations occur. All our due diligence efforts can be reviewed in the Social Compliance Program section on our website.
We have implemented important policies that our supplier partners must follow and acknowledge to achieve, maintain and support our efforts to eliminate forced labor, modern slavery and human rights abuses. These policies are enhanced as needed and include:
- Supplier Code of Conduct
- Independent Production Services (IPS)* Compliance Guidebook
- Cotton Policy
- Conflict Minerals Policy
- Foreign Migrant Worker Policy
- Man-made cellulosic fibers
- Sourcing Country Policy
We also have a strong commitment to respecting human rights. Our approach and activities to respect human rights is based on the principles as defined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which recognizes that “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
Our actions – both in our local communities and across our company – are guided by fostering inclusion, creating equity, acting with integrity and behaving ethically. We have a Human Rights Statement which outlines how we mitigate adverse human rights impacts as it relates to our associates, business partners, suppliers and customers.
As part of our compliance with legislation that is important in the global fight against modern slavery, our responses to Section 54 of the U.K. Modern Slavery Act and the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act can be found here.
As we continue our journey as a stand-alone public company, we are thrilled to share our first Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, which will provide a look at various sustainability efforts, many of which intertwine with our due diligence to mitigate risks of forced labor. We remain steadfast in our commitment to serving as a strong corporate body and ensuring our products continue to be ethically sourced and manufactured with the highest supplier standards.
